If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(1Jo 1:9)
Dearly beloved, when you believe that Lord Jesus came into this world to lay down His life for you, you will be saved.
The Bible says, “Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1).
There was a young prisoner who loved his mother very much. He was sentenced to death on account of a terrible crime committed by him. Usually, a pastor would visit the prisoners who had been sentenced to death in order to talk to them about salvation and forgiveness. He would also give them each a copy of the Bible. In the same way, a pastor met this young man as well and gave him a Bible. He told him, “My son, read this Bible tonight and you will receive peace.” But that young man became very wild and threw the Bible away in front of the pastor. The young man could not sleep that night. There was absolutely no peace in his heart. Finally, somehow he slept and he had a dream. In that dream, he saw his beloved mother lovingly inviting him. When he got up and ran to her, he saw a wall arising between both of them. Hence he could not meet his mother. He looked at that wall intently. Only then he realized that all his sins, iniquities and transgressions were written on that wall. He was shattered. Suddenly he got up and took the Bible presented by the pastor. He opened it and his eyes fell on the following verse: “…The blood of Jesus, His Son purifies us from all sin” (I John 1:7). He believed in this promise of God and started confessing all his sins to God that night. He was filled with divine peace and slept peacefully. The next morning, the jailor and others came to take him in order to hang him. Normally, those who have been sentenced to death would not be able to sleep at all the previous night. They would be going through much agony. But this young man had slept peacefully with a firm belief that he would go to heaven and meet his mother there after his death. The jailors had to wake him up from his deep slumber.Yes beloved, this is how the precious blood of Lord Jesus will cleanse you from all your sins. The Bible says, “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool” (Isaiah 1:18).Today, many have lost their peace on account of their sins. Their conscience speaks to them (Romans 2:15). The Scripture assures, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).Today cry out to God saying, “Lord, please cleanse me with your precious blood and grant me the joy of your salvation.” Then the Lord who forgave the young prisoner will certainly cleanse you also from all your sins and grant you His divine peace.
